Malnutrition Program

Hundreds of child have gone through our malnutrition program this year. Hundreds of child have gone through our malnutrition program this year.

Some of the children were close to death and others would have certainly been harmed for life without intervention, some of the recoveries are nothing short of spectacular.

They are given a special high protein diet for three months and are monitored closely and released when found to be in the normal range.

Their mothers are taught how to improve their diets with what is available to them.

Apliana was abandoned by her young teenage mother when she was born with cerebral palsy. Her grandmother came asking for help when she was one year old.

Lack of attention and malnourishment added to her weakness. She is now aware of her environment, growing stronger and has a very strong will to survive.

Maria

Maria lives in the center of a large salt water marsh with very high levels of malaria. During a mass screening it was discovered that she had three forms of malaria and had suffered from symptoms for over a year. Now that she has been treated, and village covered with bed nets from the SF program she was able to graduate from junior high school. The incidence rate has plummeted in her village and hundreds of others are protected for the first time.Maria lives in the center of a large salt water marsh with very high levels of malaria.
