The Sumba Foundation's CEO Sean Downs has announced they have received an educational grant to fund high school scholarships for three Sumbanese students.
The grant of US$4500 was provided by the North Peninsula Jewish American Teen Foundation (NPJATF) and will be used to give three deserving students the opportunity to go to High School in Sumba.
"This is a wonderful gesture and will give three students an educational opportunity that they would not normally receive," said Sean Downs.
"The three students selected by Sumba Foundation will be based on economic need and academic performance, he said. "
The North Peninsula Jewish American Teen Foundation's mission is to provide underprivileged Jewish and non-Jewish youth in impoverished communities in Israel and South East Asia with educational opportunities that lead to lasting self-sufficiency.
